WHAT'S IN THE SPOTLIGHT?
Modern Suluk Expression
Lapi Sambulaya, inspired by the fusion of Lapi and Sambulayang, captures the essence of the Suluk people, graceful yet fierce, refined yet unyielding. This contemporary urban piece transforms ancestral artistry into a modern expression that links heritage, identity, and city-ready style.
The oversized top takes inspiration from the Sambulayang and features Malong Princessa stripes that bring bold and rhythmic patterns to the design. Its woven cloth recalls the Habul headcloth, reflecting the texture and craftsmanship of Suluk weaving. Beneath it, a fitted jersey layer shapes the body silhouette and allows the Malong Princessa detailing to frame the torso with elegance.
Flowy pants suggest freedom and fluidity, echoing the Suluk spirit of movement and independence, while boots ground the look with a strong urban presence. Every line and texture reflect resilience, identity, and cultural pride.
Lapi Sambulaya honors tradition while embracing modernity, letting the wearer move through the city with the soul of Suluk heritage carried forward.

Forged in Heritage
Kinoluma Tawa takes its name from Kino for kimono and Luma Tawa, the home of coppers, honoring the copper coils worn by ancestral generations. This contemporary urban design transforms traditional artistry into a modern expression that connects heritage, identity, and city-ready style.
Drawing inspiration from the Garung Lapoi of the Dusun Liwan, the earthy tones echo the copper coils of the past, grounding the wearer in strength and resilience. Vertical stripes adapted from the Lapoi Minisaayud create movement across the fabric and reflect the rhythm of traditional weaving. Along the edges, small shell details pay tribute to the decorative elements of Garung Lapoi Liwan, linking the design to ritual, nature, and community.
A bold geometric hand-stitch in red reinterprets the Pinadang motif, carrying its ancient meanings of balance, protection, and fertility. Every texture and line preserve a story of identity and endurance.
Kinoluma Tawa celebrates the harmony of tradition and modernity, inviting the wearer to navigate urban life with the spirit of their heritage carried forward.
New Generation Rising
Nanbuyunan Aru, meaning “The New Generation of Arusap,” reimagines the proud heritage of the Murut Bookan through a modern and youthful perspective. This design reflects the strength of ancestry and the spirit of evolution, connecting the courage of past generations with the energy of today.
